Nancy Haddock is an award-winning and national bestselling author of mystery romance who also writes cozy mystery. Basket Case, Paint the Town Dead, and A Crime of Poison comprise the Silver Six Crafting Mysteries released by Berkley Prime Crime.
Her earlier books, also with Berkley, were La Vida Vampire, Last Vampire Standing, and Always The Vampire. Some titles may still be available from the original publisher, but they are scheduled to be re-issued by the author. These books feature Cesca, aka Gidget with fangs, and are set in Haddock’s current hometown, St. Augustine, FL. She also contributed the St. Augustine-set short story “Medium Rare” to both the paranormal romance anthology Entangled and the boxed set Entranced.
Nancy draws on the historic wealth, southern culture, and the plain old quirkiness of places for her books. A former speech pathologist and high school teacher in Oklahoma and Texas, Nancy now writes full-time.
Nancy Haddock used to dictate stories to her mother when she was three, and admits she lived in various story-worlds in her head throughout her childhood in NE Oklahoma. A friend told Nancy she loved coming over to play because Nancy had whole scenarios planned for the day. You’re never bored when you have characters to entertain you!
Nancy continued writing everything from poetry, to children’s picture books, to teleplays and comedy sketches even as she earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education, emphasis in Speech and Language Pathology. She worked in clinical settings, and in public and private school settings in Oklahoma and Texas before moving to St. Augustine, FL in 2002. She insists that move inspired new story-telling energy, and she did, in fact, make her long-awaited first sale to the Berkley Publishing Group in 2007.
Her light paranormal mystery-romance trilogy, set in St. Augustine, FL, will be re-issued by the author soon. Those titles are La Vida Vampire, Last Vampire Standing, and Always The Vampire. Her paranormal mystery short story “Medium Rare” will be re-issued as well.
Nancy’s cozies, The Silver Six Crafting Mysteries, are published by Berkley Prime Crime and are available in various formats. Basket Case, Paint the Town Dead, and A Crime of Poison are also available in audiobooks from Tantor, a national bestselling and award-winning author, Nancy loves her adopted hometown of St. Augustine, is tickled to live near the beach, and enjoys various volunteer jobs.
